First Trip

We took our first long trip with Kate to Wisconsin to visit Grandma and Grandpa L. Overall she did great in the car. Her limit is about 3 1/2 hours in the car before she starts letting us know that she is sick of being in her car seat. We took a trip to the Eau Claire Dells on Saturday and climbed around on the rocks.

Then Saturday night her cousins arrived!! Kate was quite amused by her cousins and really enjoyed all the attention. I think she is going to be quite bored now that it is just Mommy and Daddy. Here is a picture of her with her cousins and Kate getting constant entertainment and attention:

We had a great time and were really pleased with how Kate did on the road. She took all her naps and went down to bed for the night like clockwork.

Sleepy Signs

So as I was typing the previous entry, I looked over and saw this:
This is the new signal I am learning that means she is tired. She puts her arm or hand over her eyes. It's pretty cute too!

Horsing Around

This is Kate's new favorite toy. It's a horse rattle that when you push it's saddle it make three different horse noises: a neigh, a snort, and a galloping sound. The first time I used it with her and pushed the saddle, I was afraid she was going to cry. The most haunting horse noise comes out of it. It reminds me of the noise the headless horseman's horse would make. Instead of crying she started to laugh. Now it is one of the few things that will cheer her up when she has a cranky spell. That and being on her changing table. I don't know what it is about that changing table but she loves being on it. Maybe she knows that her Grandpa put so much love and time into making it.

First Mother's Day

We had a wonderful day yesterday. The three of us went out for a beautiful brunch at a local golf course. The food was delicious. Kate (with the help of Daddy) gave me a gift certificate for a day at the spa complete with manicure, pedicure, and massage. I am looking forward to cashing that in soon!

Sitting Pretty

Kate is now holding her head up pretty well. She can now sit in her Bebe Pod seat all by herself for limited amounts of time. After a while she gets too tired and her head starts to bobble. She is also sporting her Cubs floppy hat in this picture.

Tummy Time

I think these pictures pretty much sum up what Kate thinks of the whole "tummy time" thing.
"Angry"

"Boring!"

2 Months Old!

Kate had her 2 month appointment yesterday. This is a picture of her before we left. Notice the look of concern knowing she would be receiving 3 shots. She weighed in at 11 lbs and is 23 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.

She was so happy through the appointment, giving the doctor tons of smiles. That made it all the more sad when she got her shots. She cried pretty hard, but settled down before we left the office. That night she cried on and off. Between Tylenol and our swing, we were able to keep her pretty happy. Last night I thought that swing was worth every overpriced penny!

Three Generations

Here is a picture of the three generations of women on the my side.

We celebrated Mother's Day early since Becky was in town. Here is a picture of my mom with all her daughters (daughters, daughter-in-law, granddaughter).
