Rare moment

A rare moment with our usually wiggly Kate.

Easter

The Easter bunny was good to Kate this year. She received several Easter baskets full of goodies...although it seemed she enjoyed the containers and stuffing the most!

Lincoln Park Zoo

We met Dean's brother's family at the Lincoln Park Zoo on Monday. Although it was a little chilly it was fun go in the animal houses. It was interesting to see Kate react to the animals.

Dean, Kate, Moriah, Ashley, and Shayla in the monkey house:

At the request of Becky...here are some more pictures!

Mmm..this cake looks good...

I'll try just a little taste off of my finger...oh forget it, this is taking too long...I'll just shovel it in my mouth straight off the tray!

Opening presents:

Kate's 1st Birthday Party

We had a great time with family and friends celebrating Kate's 1st birthday. She loved all the commotion and seeing all her favorite people. She definitely has a sweet tooth and dove right into her cake. She received lots of new toys and clothes that should keep her busy for a while! We feel very blessed to have Kate as our daughter. She is such a happy, bright, and energetic little girl. Happy 1st birthday Kate!

Kate is 1 year old!!

Today turned one year old today!! These are a few of her one year portraits taken by Rachel Stauss at Divine Image photography (rachstauss@sbcglobal.net). I think they turned out well despite Kate being a busy and wiggly little girl!

Stomach Flu.

We are sorry for the brief hiatus from posting on the blog but we (Dean and I) have come down with a bad case of the stomach flu. Thank the Lord that Kate doesn't have it, but it has been challenging to care for her and be sick. I think we are nearing the end of it, but we have been eating a lot of mac n' cheese and toast.
