This past week.

Kate has been walking like crazy. She loves to carry things around the house and does laps around the kitchen table. We have all enjoyed the nice weather and being outside.

Spa weekend away!

This weekend I went away for a night to the Abbey in Lake Geneva Wisconsin with some friends. We spent Friday afternoon at the spa and went out for dinner that evening. The next morning we went out for breakfast and walked around Lake Geneva. It was really nice to get away. It was actually my first overnight away from Kate. She did great with Dean and when I came home was walking a talking more than when I left! She was doing laps around the kitchen table and up and down the upstairs hallway! They seemed to have a great time together and I enjoy being away especially having a leisurely morning and breakfast.

Kate had her eye surgery on Monday to fix her blocked tear duct. It was a very quick procedure (15 min) that involved her being put under anesthesia and the doctor probing her tear duct to open it up. They warned us several times to expect her to cry when they take her away and to be crying when we saw her after the surgery. She went to the nurses happily and when they called us back afterwards, she was smiling and happy in the nurses arms. They were shocked saying she was all smiles the whole time, even when they put her on the table to hook her up to all the monitors she just smiled at everyone in the room.

She was such a good girl through it all that Dean bought her a sticker book. She LOVES it! She sat on his lap for what seemed like a long time and stuck and re-stuck the stickers on the page.

We are praying that this procedure did the trick and we wont have to do it again. We are so thankful that it went so well and we were able to do it sooner that we thought. Hopefully her cheeks will now be tear free!

Nice Weather.

Saturday and Sunday the temperatures were in the 60's so we tried to take advantage of the warm weather. Kate was intrigued by all the things to see and touch outside. She loved walking up and down the side walk.

Kate is now walking...well sort of. She takes short trip from the couch to me, or from the the couch to the table. She has been taking steps on her own for a while now but always with our prompting. Today it has become much more independent and initiated by her. She gets so excited when she is walking that she ends up losing her balance and falls down. I bet in a few weeks she will be a pro!
