Here we go...

Kate has come down with an awful cold. I'm told this is how the rest of the fall and winter will go. Since she is in the church nursery twice a week she will catch her fair share of illness. The poor thing is coughing constantly and to the point of gaging herself. She has an ongoing fever that I thought might be from her flu shot she received Friday, but it doesn't seem so. It is higher than what would be from the shot and with it now being Monday she should have recovered from the shot by now. Last night she was up all night coughing and crying. I think the longest span of time she slept with out coughing or waking up was 50 minutes. We have talked to several families at church whose kids have croup and were concerned she may be getting it. We went to the doctor today and she said it is just a cold but to switch from Tylonol to Motrin to combat the fever. She just took a really good nap with a lot less coughing so I hope tonight will be better. All we can do it wait it out at this point. Boy...is it miserable.

Today we spent the day at the Morton Arboretum (click on it for the link). It is a huge place with lots of gardens and trails. We only walked around a small portion of it but really enjoyed it. Kate got a kick out of the backpack carrier and enjoyed being in a position to pull our hair so easily. It was a beautiful day. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed the weather.

This is a sculpture made out of tree branches and vines. It was like a little house with doorways and rooms.

7 Months Old

It's hard to believe that Kate is 7 months old. Here are some picture of what she likes to do:

Play with/chew on her toys.

Crawl!!! She can crawl a few "steps" and then resorts to the army crawl. She always ends up where she isn't supposed to go...fireplace, coffee table, shoes, etc.

Play under her exersaucer. Dean builds her a fort and she loves playing in it.
