Growing and Changing

Kate seems to grow and change everyday. She is getting much better at sitting up (as you can see in this picture) and is getting on all fours trying to crawl. She usually ends up rocking for a second and then resorting to her one arm army style crawl. She reminds us of a wounded soldier. She is a pretty fun little kid!

Tub time!

Kate has really taking a liking to tub time. She splashes like crazy and manages to get me all wet in the process. I'm thinking of taking a swim class with her if I can find one for babies nearby. Here is a video of her in the tub. She got really wild after the video was taken but you get a little taste of how she enjoys her bath!

6 Months Old!

Kate just had her 6 month appointment today and is doing great! She now weighs in at 15 lbs 14 oz and is 26 1/4 inches long. Again the doctor commented on how active she is (after she shredded the paper on the exam table and unplugged the instrument panel) and insisted sending me home with info on home child safety precautions.

Kate is becoming more and more fun by the day. She giggles over just about anything and babbles constantly. Her favorites are da-da-da-da, ba-ba-ba, mmmmmma!, and some sort of "p" blowing sound. Also in her repertoire is a shrieking sound that is cute when it is done quietly but not so cute when it is at the top of her lungs. She also seems to tell herself jokes because she will babble and then laugh at herself.

She is now eating a variety of foods made by the extraordinary Chef Rachael such as sweet potatoes, beans, peas, apple sauce (made by Grandma), bananas, rice cereal and oatmeal. Next on the menu is pears.

I have tried to take her picture with a stuffed dog that Aunt Becky gave her every month. The 2nd and 3rd month weren't done exactly on the date but I have become much more diligent with it. I thought it would be fun for you to see how she has changed the past six months.

Labor Day Weekend

My side of the family spent Labor Day weekend at my parents cabin in Wisconsin. My sister Becky and her husband were able to borrow a plane and fly in from Ohio. We had great weather and a great time enjoying time with family and the beautiful scenery. The cabin is nearly finished. There is now living room furniture and all that is left to finish is the kitchen. Here are some highlights:
