Cutie.

I thought Kate looked really cute on Sunday in this dress so I took a picture. We bought her a baby doll to play with and she really seems to like it. She walks around with it saying, "shhh-shhh". But then she will toss it aside and drop it on its head...we have some work to do on being gentle.

Splash Pad

On Thursday I got together with some girls from church and we went to a local park district's Splash Pad. It was so fun especially for Kate's age group. It is a big fenced in area full of sprinklers, water troughs, water cannons, and archways of water. The flooring was a soft non-slip rubber. I thought it was really cool. I actually could just sit on the side and Kate was happy to run around. There wasn't anything she could get hurt on and it was fenced in so she could run away.

Weekend at the cabin.

This past weekend my family all met at my parents cabin. The kitchen is finally finished and it looks great! We really enjoyed hanging out on the deck and when it got too hot enjoying the newly finished upstairs. Sat afternoon we spend at a nearby beach that was really fun. I'm not much of a lake kinda girl but it was really nice.

Chef Kate

I'm not sure what possessed me to do this, but I decided to bake cookies with Kate. It went surprisingly well! She stood very still on the step stool and I stood behind her measuring ingredients. She was very interested and I let her taste the cookies dough before I put the egg in. Then as I put the cookie dough on the cookie sheet she would take little pinches of it at say, "Mmm-mmm." (Takes after her daddy.) You might be able to see a little on her face in the picture! Well...I guess a little raw egg can't hurt right?! It was fun and then she got to enjoy the fruits of her labor after dinner.

Pool Party at Grandma's!

Grandma surprised Kate with a new pool! It was the coolest baby pool I've ever seen! She loved it and after we added a little warm water jumped right in!

Fourth of July

We spent the Fourth of July at Dean's dad's place. Kate had so much fun enjoying their yard, feeding the chickens, and running around. We had a great time and are still enjoying the eggs, veggies, and local beef Grandma sent home with us!
