Mama is funny!

Here is a video of Kate laughing at me. Really...I am that funny.

I am growing!

Kate moved up a size and is now wearing her 6-9 month fashions. We found this outfit from Grandma L in her clothing bin.

Visit to Eva's House

Eva and Kate
Kate and I took a drive to Milwaukee to visit Leslie and Eva. It is so fun to see them together since they are so close in age (5 days apart). Instead of laying and playing now they are sitting and rolling. Eva doing much of the sitting and Kate much of the rolling. Kate was too distracted to nap and was getting pretty slap-happy. Below is a video of Eva and Leslie getting her to giggle before we left.

Little girl in a big chair

We decided to get the high chair out to feed her in. It is much easier and she seems to like it. She just looks so tiny in it! Coming up Saturday I can start giving her food other than cereal. I'm trying to decide whether to do fruits or vegetables first, and whether to buy baby food or make it myself. Feeding her solids seems to be helping her sleep better since her tummy is nice and full before bed.

Breaking News!!!!!

Kate is eating rice cereal! This morning was her first time eating "solid" foods! At first she wasn't sure but then started lunging toward the spoon for every bite. I think she was more than ready.

Dinner Date

Kate and I went out on a date with our friend Nicole and her 2 months old son Carson. Kate wanted to wear something new for the occasion, but as you can see was not too fond of the hat. I told her it was cute, but she didn't buy it! As it turned out, Carson slept almost the whole time and didn't even notice Kate's new outfit anyway. Boys...

First Cold

Kate has her first cold. This is not a first we are proud of. Here is Kate demonstrating how bad she feels: Warning... this is sad.

Beach Day

Monday we enjoyed a day at the beach. Kate enjoyed watching the kids play, grabbing a fistful of sand when we weren't looking, and taking a nap on the beach in the shade.

Family Party

Dean's Mom and step-Dad celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and 60th birthdays by having the entire family up for a party. Dean's mom is one of 7 sisters all of which attended with spouses and kids and grandkids! There were 38 people in all staying at their house some in campers or tents. It was a fun time to see all the family and celebrate together.

Kids and grandkids.
