Palatine HS Trick-Or-Treat Festival

Tonight we headed to Palatine High School's 14th Annual Trick-Or-Treat Festival. It was really fun. I expected them to have about 10 rooms decorated that the little kids could go in and out of but they had two floors of the school with almost all the classrooms decorated for trick-or-treating. Some you played games, others you just wandered in and out. Kate was so excited just to see other kids in costumes. She yelled, "Yeah! Candy! Yummy!" When she got her first treat. They had face painting, games, music...it was well done...and inside and FREE! Okay baby boy...if you do happen to put me in the hospital over Halloween I guess it will be okay. We got our trick-or-treating fix early!

Squeezing in some fall fun!

Kate and I headed to Barnes and Noble today for a story time, craft, and costume contest. We also used a free hot cocoa and cookie coupon I found. Fun little Halloween outing in case I wont be able to partake when Halloween is actually here. Dean unfortunately had to stay home painting four closet doors.

Story time:

Princess Kate:

Costume contest. Santa won. It was totally rigged. The lady who judged it was obviously friends with Santa's family.

2 weeks 2 go!

Here is the finished product on Baby Boy Butters' room. I really liked how it turned out. We could use some wall decor but haven't come across anything yet.

Below is quilt my mom handmade for the baby. Matches very well!

Fall Mishaps and Fun

You might say..."Where was this child's mother while she colored all over her face with brown marker?" I was 5 feet away sitting at the kitchen table looking at the paper. It was very hard not to laugh as I was scolding her for this.

This was a much anticipated day...hay bale, pumpkins, cornstalk, and now scarecrows. I'll post a picture of the scarecrows soon.

Kate was the only girl invited to Dean's football party...well she had to be because I was out at a Girl's Night Out. Needless to say she was the hit of the party! She now has the word "Cheesehead" in her vocabulary.

Fall Fest

We went to the Palatine Fall Fest today and had a great time. They had everything for fall...pony rides, petting zoo, wagon rides, pumpkins, and crafts. Nice one stop shopping in our own town!

Ready to ride a pony!

Yee-haw!

This guy was a little skiddish.

Lots of hugs for the goats.

Wagon ride.

Craft.

Family of 3...not for long!

Random from Sept

Painting....I think her arm in this picture.

Hula hoop. She doesn't quite get it yet and I am not a good example as it seems I have lost my hula hooping skills somewhere. Maybe it's the large belly.

Cute!

This is an everyday occurrence.

My 33rd birthday. Princess snuck in on this shot.

Grandma and Grandpa Butters and BEEF!

We ran up to WI to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Butters and pick up our BEEF! We had a great time enjoying time with them and all their animals and loaded up the back of Dean's Explorer with 240 lbs of beef. Our freezer is now fully stocked for the next year or more. We weighed and calculated it out to be $3.01/lb. Which is an excellent price for meat ranging from steaks to roasts to ground beef. Not to mention the quality and taste are so much better than the grocery store.
